Dutch Legends: a journey through 2021 and a look ahead to 2022

As every self-respecting multinational looks back annually, the Legends Team has also made time for this. We stay away from clichéd statements about supply chain issues and Covid-19, but take you on a legendary journey of growth of a disruptive start-up in textile and fashion manufacturing.

With a solid business plan in 2021, we speak of a more or less successful mission. Our focus was on opportunities and successes and thus on concrete targets. Entrepreneurs see opportunities at every corner and at any moment; the trick is to focus, to say no where the efforts are too big and the profits too low. And to find the balance between sowing for the future and harvesting on time, that was the year for Dutch Legends.

The workwear and care clothing webshop for SMEs, self-employed individuals and private individuals went live at the beginning of this year. Besides a first basic collection of Legend Workwear, the shop offers a broad collection of renowned other brands that fit our philosophy. We build, learn and sell. Targets have been met and the knives have been sharpened for 2022.

Harvesting in the healthcare sector has begun. Networking and sowing in 2020 resulted in tender successes in 2021. Dutch Legends knows its way around and offers a short supply chain directly. We develop and design custom made clothing for the healthcare industry. From nursing to doctors, facility services and security. Full sampling for wear testing was occasionally a challenge. The lower availability of raw materials forced us to be highly creative and travel a lot. We are not complaining, in fact it has given our white label projects a positive boost. Creativity with policy leads to efficiency and quality and our customers experience that too.

We opt for production support on site rather than remotely. A suitcase full of designs, patterns and raw materials plus a backpack of travel clothes. Priorities are set and despite travel restrictions, due to Corona, production abroad was fully under control. We travel by road when air can’t and see not obstacles but challenges. The network of Legends abroad is constantly expanding. We create complete collections together with designers, pattern makers, studios and a network of professionals spread across Europe.

Check, double check. Legends doesn’t waste any time and delivers on its promises; we deliver within 4-6 production weeks, from scratch. We can promise this because of our disruptive model, no unnecessary links but efficient and fair textile production.

The Legends Team steams on. Product development on equestrian and representative clothing for various sectors. The travel and leisure sector knows how to find us. We innovate with cloth and production methods. Thanks in part to a reliable network of suppliers who think along with us and also see growth opportunities, we are able to meet customer expectations. We score high marks for customer satisfaction. That is what the Legends do it for.

The autumn was all about live meetings. We networked at the A+A 2021 trade fair in Düsseldorf, where the global workwear and PPE sector comes together. A trade fair that fortunately was able to take place. We guide customers in their search for the best and most sustainable workwear. Of course against disruptive Legend prices. We can also take customers back to the production sites, quality control on site, sniff culture and meet locals. After all, it’s those Legends that make our clothes. Dutch Legends has sustainability at the top of its priorities. We have been able to keep our prices low, despite the increase of prices for raw materials and transportation costs. While maintaining the good basic salary for the production locations. This is part of our philosophy.

With the expansion of our back office, we are accelerating the further professionalization of social media and website optimization. Engagement increases and we lay the foundation for even more growth in 2022.

With our team of Dutch Legends we look back on a busy year. We made choices, smoked opportunities and cashed in on previously developed initiatives. With our 35 years of experience in this sector, we want faster and more and are already thinking in scale-up from scale-up level. In 2021, we skipped start-up phases, were still inventing ourselves, but from a huge hump of experience and with a disruptive, market accessible application. The new year 2022 is all about harvesting, continuing development and increasing our visibility. Legends are tough, non-gray (sometimes dyed), seasoned and above all reliable interlocutors in providing solutions to a variety of workwear and healthcare clothing challenges. We’re looking forward to it!
